Why road salt is hard on your car

Chicago spreads salt to keep winter roads safe — but that same salt clings to your car’s undercarriage, wheel wells, and lower panels. Left there, it speeds up rust and corrosion in exactly the places you can’t easily see or reach at home.

The undercarriage is the priority
